Left receiver wall must be shortened up to the bolt stop box hinge. (Not sporterized.) Bore is worn, dark, and dirty. 1) Small Ring M-1893-1896 1.30 in diameter are 8.50 in length, Straight side walled receiver with screw spacing of 7.620. Serialized parts are all matching, except for the bolt sleeve and safety. Small ring have a threaded shank diameter of. So the bolt serial number may have been force-matched. Cleaning rod is un-numbered, so it may not be original. Rifle appears to have been depot refinished at least once, but the original crest is intact and legibly reads “BERLIN 1896” with the Loewe Crest! The Loewe maker’s mark and Star of David are crisp, assuring it’s antique status. Original stock is numbered to the gun and in quite good condition for a Spanish Mauser, with just scattered dents and minor scratches. Stamped “R” on butt, indicating it was an arsenal reconditioned rifle.
